This item does work in, under and around water, but when wet may not be able to turn off or be reused if it is not dried properly. Because the unit has wired parts, it may rust and begin to discolor water in a vase after 6-8 hours and if submersed in water will not be reusable in the same condition.

We tested underwater for 6+ hours with no adverse effects aside from slight water discoloration (but still clear). After 12 hours or so, the battery oxidized and rusted (which discolored the water more). Left overnight, the light is still on after 24 hours. Please dispose of unit properly.
